As per reports, following are the latest situational updates on the Manipur unrest, as of Saturday (19 July);

• Security forces continued to conduct search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas across the districts. A total of 111 Nakas/Checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hills and the valley, and 06 persons were detained by Police at the Nakas/Checkpoints.
• Security forces reportedly arrested two militants belonging to proscribed outfits in Manipur for their alleged involvement in extortion activities on Friday (18 July).
• Top Army officers have reportedly briefed Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on the prevailing security situation in the state as well as the overall security scenario across the northeastern region.
• During the meeting, the Army’s Eastern Command chief briefed the Governor on the preparations and arrangements for the upcoming 134th edition of the Durand Cup 2025, which will be held from Wednesday (23 July) across five cities in India, including in Imphal.
• A mass public rally was held at Tamenglong district headquarters on Friday (18 July), organised by the representatives of the Civil Society Organizations, from the Lower Ground till Haipou Jadonang Park.
