As per reports, the latest situational updates in Manipur as of Monday (28 October) are as follows:

• On Saturday (26 October) night, bomb blasts and gun battles took place in Koutruk of Imphal West district and Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district. Imphal West police believe that Kuki militants initiated an attack using firearms and explosives, and continued for four hours. In Bishnupur, the police suspected a Kuki militants attack at around 2115 hours leading to an exchange on gunfire between state forces and militants.
• Search operations on Saturday (26 October) led to the recovery of arms and ammunition in Bishnupur and Imphal West districts.
• On Sunday (27 October), two cadres of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were arrested in Tengnoupal district in an operation led by a team of Assam Rifles personnel.
• Two active militants of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) were arrested for involvement in alleged extortion activities.
• A network of 109 checkpoints were established across several districts to maintain surveillance along with an increase in search operations by security forces. Security forces also facilitated the movement of 320 vehicles carrying essential items along National Highway-2.
