According to reports, following are the latest updates on the ongoing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) shortage in parts of India, as of Monday (01 June):

• Gujarat: State-run oil marketing companies have increased commercial LPG cylinder prices by INR 42 effective Monday (01 June). In Ahmedabad, domestic LPG is priced at INR 920, while a 19-kg commercial cylinder costs INR 3,135, reflecting the latest revision in fuel-linked pricing.
• Maharashtra: In Mumbai, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased from INR 3,024 to INR 3,067.50 effective Monday (01 June), indicating a marginal upward revision in commercial fuel costs impacting urban service sectors.
• Rajasthan: In Jaipur, domestic LPG cylinders are priced at INR 916.5, while 19-kg commercial cylinders are being sold at INR 3,155, reflecting continued regional variation in LPG pricing across states.
• Tamil Nadu: In Tiruchirappalli, rising petrol, diesel, and already elevated commercial LPG costs are expected to trigger another round of price increases across eateries, tea shops, and juice stalls. Several establishments have already implemented price hikes, while others are considering increases of around 10 percent, with cumulative rises over the past two months nearing 15 percent due to higher fuel and raw material costs.
• Karnataka: In Kalaburagi, members of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) [SUCI(C)] staged a protest on Sunday (31 May) against rising petrol, diesel, and cooking gas prices. Protesters highlighted that increased fuel costs are contributing to higher transportation expenses and inflation, urging both state and central governments to reduce fuel taxes and ease household financial burden.
• West Bengal: In Kolkata, rising fuel costs linked to developments in West Asia have contributed to increased logistics and transportation expenses, resulting in a 10-12 percent rise in wholesale vegetable prices and further increases in retail prices due to higher freight and spoilage costs, adding inflationary pressure on daily essentials.
• Chhattisgarh: Air India has discontinued its afternoon Raipur-Delhi flight from Monday (01 June), while IndiGo has reduced services on key regional routes including Raipur-Lucknow-Bhubaneswar and Raipur-Pune-Chennai. The reductions are attributed to rising aviation fuel and operational costs, impacting connectivity and potentially increasing travel times and airfares for passengers.
