As per reports, the following updates are available on the landslide situation in parts of Vietnam as of Thursday (03 October):
• On Wednesday (02 October), the Ha Giang Provincial Police announced that the landslide area on National Route- 02, through Viet Vinh Commune, Bac Quang District, had been cleared and reopened to traffic.
• Additionally, 45 households with 148 residents were evacuated from the high-risk areas prone to landslides and flash floods throughout the commune.
• Due to heavy rainfall from Monday (30 September) to Tuesday (01 October), landslides and riverbank erosion have occurred in Thanh Hoa, Vinh Loc, Thuong Xuan and Thach Thanh districts.
• As a response, the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee directed the People’s Committees of Vinh Loc, Thach Thanh, and Thuong Xuan Districts to conduct inspections, surveys, and assessments of the scope and severity of the landslides, and to propose appropriate solutions to request funding from relevant authorities for the implementation of necessary measures.
