As per reports, a new two-hectare wildfire (K70529) occurred approximately 30 kilometers south of Lytton, British Columbia, near Spences Bridge, on Monday (28 July).
• The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) has deployed ground crews and helicopters to actively combat the fire, which is located on the west side of the Fraser River.
• While currently small, the fire’s emergence in a region already grappling with an active and severe wildfire season, and near communities sensitive to fire threats necessitates close monitoring.
• The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
