The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) has issued a thunderstorm warning on Tuesday (16 July). It was issued at 0440 hours and is currently in force. An amber rainstorm warning was also issued at 0535 hours but was cancelled at 0725 hours on Tuesday (16 July). Additionally, an area of thundery showers associated with the broad trough of low pressure is affecting the seas east of Hong Kong and gradually approaching. It is expected to affect the territory over the next couple of hours.
HKO has stated that on Tuesday (16 July) mainly cloudy with occasional showers and squally thunderstorms are expected. Rainfall will be heavier at times with sunny intervals during the day. Moderate to fresh easterly winds are likely.
