As per reports, trade unionists from the administration sector will stage protests in Bucharest on Monday (15 September), opposing government measures they claim will destabilise the public administration system.
• The protest will begin at 1000 hours on Monday (15 September) in Victory Square and is expected to continue until 1300 hours on Monday (15 September).
• The demonstrators will then march along the following route: Victory Square, Berzei Road, Buzești, Vasile Pârvan Street, Hasdeu Bridge, BP Hasdeu Street, United Nations Boulevard, and Izvor Park.
• A public meeting is scheduled outside the Palace of Parliament between 1400 hours and 1500 hours on Monday (15 September).
• Union representatives have warned of a general strike if the Government proceeds with the contested measures, which include staff reductions, temporary mandates, periodic testing of public servants, and a differentiated salary scale for local administrations.
• Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has invited union leaders for discussions on Monday (15 September).
