As per reports, the residents in the low-lying areas along the Chao Phraya River have been alerted to prepare for potential flooding on Thursday (21 August).

• The Deputy Director-General of the Royal Irrigation Department has issued a warning letter, regarding the water situation in the Chao Phraya Basin to the governors of 11 Chao Phraya Basin provinces: Uthai Thani, Chainat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, and Bangkok.
• On Thursday (21 August), at Station C.2 in Muang Nakhon Sawan District, Nakhon Sawan Province, water is expected to flow through approximately 1,650-1,850 cubic meters per second.
• The projected water volume from the tributaries will be 100 cubic m/s, and this may also bring the water volume above the Chao Phraya Dam to 1,750-1,950 cubic m/s, and the water will be fed into the irrigation system on both sides at a rate of 400-450 cubic m/s, while the water levels downstream will be at approximately 10 to 90 centimetres (cm).
• Authorities further stated that it is necessary to release water through the Chao Phraya Dam in the low-lying areas outside the embankment around Khlong Phong Pheng, Ang Thong Province, Khlong Bang Ban, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, and Hua Wiang Subdistrict, Sena District, Lat Chit Subdistrict, Tha Din Daeng Subdistrict, Phak Hai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province (Mae Nam Noi).
• In addition, the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (PDMO) has coordinated with 10 central provinces, namely Uthai Thani, Chainat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan, as well as Bangkok, to closely monitor the water situation, particularly in low-lying areas outside the embankments.
