As per reports, the following are the updates for escalations in Syria as of Wednesday (19 March):
• Israeli jets targeted former Syrian army outposts in the central Homs province, on Tuesday (18 March). The jets bombed army fortifications in the villages of Shinshar and Shamsin south of Homs city in central Syria.
• In addition to the air strikes, Israel has also deployed troops to a UN-patrolled buffer zone on the strategic Golan Heights and called for the complete demilitarization of southern Syria, near its territory.
• The Syrian foreign ministry condemns a series of deadly Israeli strikes reported in the province of Daraa on Monday (17 March), accusing Israel of seeking to create instability in the country.
