According to reports, as of Saturday (29 March), at least two people were killed and 112 injured, including 77 security officials, during a pro-monarchy rally in Kathmandu on Friday (28 March). Approximately 10,000 to 15,000 people participated in the protests. Protesters vandalized homes, shops, a hospital, a political party office, vehicles, and a shopping mall, and seized a weapon from the police.
As of Saturday (29 March), the security forces have arrested 105 protesters, including pro-monarchy leaders, and the Nepalese government has launched further investigation into the violence. Still, the curfew was lifted in the Baneshwar-Tinkune stretch from around 0700 hours on Saturday (29 March).
