Update on bushfire incidents across Victoria – Monday (19 January)

As per reports, the following are the latest updates regarding ongoing bushfire incidents across parts of Victoria, as of Monday (19 January):

• As of Saturday (19 January), Victoria Emergency Service has issued a “Watch and Act” warning for bushfires in Koetong, Shelley, Berringama, Lucyvale and surrounding areas. Moreover alert to “Watch and Act – Monitor conditions as they are changing” has been issued for Bullioh, Bungil, Burrowye, Granya, Henlow, Tallangatta Valley, Thologolong, Wyeebo, Biggara, Crawford Crossing, Abbeyard, Arbuckle, Billabong, Black Snake Creek, Budgee Budgee, Castleburn, Cowa, Crooked River, Gibbs, Grant, Hawkhurst, Hogtown, Howitt Plains, Howittville, Maguires, Miowera, Moroka, Naarun, Peter the Swede, Selwyn, Shepherdson, Talbotville, Treasure, Waterford, Winchester, Wongungarra, Wonnangatta, Wrathung, Dartmouth, Hodgson Crossing, McNamara Crossing, Nariel Valley, Staceys Bridge, Thowgla, Tom Groggin, Towong, and Willow Crossing.
• According to reports, the State and Federal Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements have announced that they will invest AUD 82 million to restore and repair state roads and public transport infrastructure damaged by the January 2026 Victorian bushfires.
• Fundraising efforts by the Hotel Care Foundation are continuing. The AUD 50,000 raised so far will be distributed across the 2026 Victorian Bushfire Appeal, CFA and SES, directly supporting emergency services and communities on the frontline of Victoria’s bushfire response.
• Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) sent 22 firefighters to Victoria on Monday (19 January) to assist in controlling the situation. As per reports, the emergency team is expected to stay in Victoria till Monday (02 February).
