As per reports, student unions continued with their protests demanding the abolition of the quota system in government jobs, in several parts of Bangladesh, on Thursday (04 July).

• Students of Jagannath University (JnU) protested for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday (04 July), demanding the cancellation quotas. Hundreds of students gathered and blocked the Ray Shaheb Bazar intersection for about an hour, causing heavy traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
• The students of Comilla University blocked the Dhaka-Chittagong highway after the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Thursday (04 July) upheld the High Court’s verdict that declared the decision to cancel the quota system, including the first and second-class freedom fighter quota in government jobs, illegal.
• Vehicular movement on the Dhaka-Barisal highway was temporarily suspended on Thursday (04 July) afternoon hours, as Barisal University students places barricades, demanding the cancellation of the freedom fighter quota system in government jobs.
