As per reports, following are the latest updates on various protests against India that have occurred or are ongoing in Bangladesh as of Thursday (05 December):

• Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul has proposed organizing a rally to counter India’s claims about recent anti-minority violence in Bangladesh, emphasizing unity and solidarity among political parties. Following a meeting with all major political parties and Chief Adviser Mohammad Yunus at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday (04 December) evening, Nazrul stated that locations and specifics for such a rally will be announced soon.
• A protest march was held by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at Naya Paltan, Dhaka on Tuesday (03 December) against the alleged attack on the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Tripura. Following the march, the BNP has also suggested at Chief Advisor Yunus seek intervention from United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping forces to safeguard Bangladeshi diplomatic missions in India.
• The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement held another rally at Jagannath University (JnU) on Wednesday (04 December) afternoon, where speakers made statements accusing India of trying to influence internal affairs of Bangladesh. Such accusations have been made multiple times by various people, and have categorically been rejected by India.
• Additionally, security has been tightened around the Indian Embassy compound in Dhaka following a call for protests to blockade the embassy by various groups, including JnU students. Heavy security arrangements are in place at Shahjadpur Bashtola, a major route leading to the embassy, with restrictions on passage through the road from Bashtola, except for residents. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Gulshan division has set up barricades on the road leading to the embassy, halting traffic. Additionally, army personnel are also deployed for the embassy’s security.
