According to reports, as of Tuesday (10 March), flight operations between parts of the APAC region and Middle-East destinations continue to face disruption due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and related airspace restrictions. Several carriers are maintaining suspensions, cancellations, and route adjustments, while limited recovery measures remain underway.
• Singapore – Singapore Airlines continues to suspend flights SQ494 and SQ495 operating between Singapore and Dubai until Sunday (15 March). Scoot also continues to cancel flights TR596 and TR597 operating between Singapore and Jeddah on selected dates, including Monday-Tuesday (09-10 March).
• Philippines – Philippine Airlines’ advisory updated on Monday (09 March) indicates continuing disruption on Middle-East routes, including services operating between Manila and Doha, Manila and Dubai, and Manila and Riyadh, with adjusted operations and reaccommodation measures remaining in place.
• Malaysia – Malaysia Airlines continues its partial recovery, with services to Jeddah and Madinah resumed, while flights between Kuala Lumpur and Doha remain suspended. The latest Malaysia Airlines pages indicate Doha services remain suspended until Thursday (13 March).
• Australia – Virgin Australia stated at 1600 hours (local time) on Monday (09 March) that its Doha services operated by Qatar Airways remain impacted, with cancellations continuing on selected services between Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Doha. Qantas also continues to operate flight QF9 between Perth and London via Singapore for a fuel stop due to adjusted flight paths
• Japan – Japan Airlines stated, as of 1500 hours (local time) on Monday (09 March), that flights JL59 and JL50 operating between Tokyo Haneda and Doha remain suspended until sufficient safety measures can be ensured under the current Middle-East situation.
• South Korea – Korean Air’s suspension of flights KE951 and KE952 operating between Incheon and Dubai remains in effect through Sunday (15 March), according to South Korean media reports citing the airline.
• Pakistan – Flight disruption on Gulf routes remains ongoing, with reports published on Monday (09 March) stating that 18 flights from Lahore to Gulf destinations were cancelled in the previous 24 hours, while wider schedule disruption continued to affect services linked to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Dammam, and Muscat.
• Bangladesh – Operational disruption at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka remains ongoing. Reports published on Monday (09 March) state that 26 more flights were cancelled that day, including services operated by Kuwait Airways, Air Arabia, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Jazeera Airways, and flydubai.
