As per reports, the Secondary School Teachers Union (SESTU) in Malawi issued an ultimatum to the Ministry of Education, threatening industrial action if their demands are not met by 01 November. The union is demanding salary arrears, promotions, and better funding for schools.

The potential strike is anticipated to affect Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba, and Mzuzu.
