Unified truck ban hours enforced in Metro Cebu from Tuesday (12 May)

As per reports, Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro has ordered a unified truck ban schedule across Cebu province, moving to address worsening traffic congestion; through an executive order signed on Tuesday (12 May).

• Baricuatro imposed uniform truck ban hours covering major roads and highways across the province, following weeks of consultations with traffic managers, logistics stakeholders, and local government units in Metro Cebu.
• Under the executive order, heavy trucks exceeding 4,500 kilograms in gross vehicle weight may no longer pass through designated roads during peak hours from 0600 to 0800 hours (local time) and from 1700 to 1900 hours.
• The order exempts Sundays and officially declared holidays from enforcement.
• It also exempts emergency vehicles, military and law enforcement units, fuel and water delivery vehicles, utility service vehicles, and other vehicles authorized by the governor.
