As per reports, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has issued a yellow alert for the Visayas power grid on Thursday (15 October) from 1700 to 1800 hours (local time) due to insufficient operating reserves.
The alert is attributed to the unavailability of the PEDC 3 and KSPC 1 coal-fired power plants, limited electricity imports from the Mindanao grid due to an unplanned outage at FDC 3 and planned outages at GNPK 4 and TSI 2, as well as several other power plants operating at reduced capacity.
