As per reports, the Tuscany regional government has declared a forest fire risk period across the entire region beginning on Saturday (13 June). The measure activates wildfire prevention regulations under regional forestry legislation and comes amid forecasts indicating an elevated risk of forest fire development across much of Tuscany.

• Authorities stated that prevailing anticyclonic weather conditions, above-average temperatures, low relative humidity, limited recent rainfall, and continued atmospheric stability have significantly increased fire danger levels. Forecasts prepared by the LaMMA Consortium indicate that stable weather conditions, limited rainfall, and temperatures above seasonal averages are expected to persist, further increasing the likelihood of wildfire ignition and spread.
• As part of the restrictions, all burning of agricultural, forestry, and vegetation residues is prohibited throughout Tuscany for the duration of the fire-risk period. The measure applies region-wide and is intended to reduce the likelihood of accidental wildfire outbreaks during a period of heightened environmental vulnerability.
• Regional authorities have urged forestry companies, landowners, utility operators, and contractors to strictly comply with the restrictions and adopt preventive measures to avoid activities that could trigger fires.
