Tuberculosis cases reported in Kota Tinggi and Pontian, Johor on Friday (13 February)

As per reports, Johor health authorities have confirmed tuberculosis (TB) cases in the Kota Tinggi and Pontian districts on Friday (13 February).

• State Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon stated that the situation is under control and is being closely monitored by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Authorities are conducting contact tracing and health screening for close contacts of confirmed patients.
• To date, 33 TB-positive cases have been reported in Kota Tinggi and one case in Pontian. Screening of close contacts is ongoing, with follow-up monitoring to continue as required.
• Officials indicated that standard operating procedures are in place for case management and treatment. The source of the Kota Tinggi cluster has yet to be identified.
