As per reports, as fuel prices continue to rise and affect the transport sector, drivers and operators across Cebu, led by the Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston), joined the second nationwide strike on Friday (27 March). The transport group stated that diesel prices, which could reportedly reach up to PHP 130 per litre forcing drivers to work longer hours with lower take-home pay as operating costs continue to rise.
Piston-Cebu reported varying levels of transport disruption in several areas, particularly along key jeepney routes. Traditional jeepney operations in Tintay-Colon, Pit-os-Carbon, and Talamban-Mandaue have been affected, while Guadalupe routes also reported disruptions. Other impacted routes include Parkmall-Urgello, Cabancalan, Mabolo, and P. del Rosario, and P. del Rosario Street.
