Ahead of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon scheduled to be held on Sunday (20 October), traffic restrictions have been announced for civil commute within the city.
• Early on Sunday morning (20 October), barriers will be installed along the route of the marathon.
• Motorists are asked to move their cars from the route by 2300 hours on Saturday (19 October).
• There will be no parking or stopping within the barriers. Owners of incorrectly parked cars will be given a ticket and the car may be towed away. The parking ban will apply from 2300 hours on Saturday (19 October) until all barriers have been removed.
• Traffic will be able to move freely along streets on the route until 45 minutes before the first participant arrives there. The street will be reopened to traffic again about 30 minutes after the last participant has passed.
• On Sunday (20 October), travellers can drive in and out of the city along the following routes:- Nieuwe Hemweg-Spaarndammerdijk- Transformatorweg- Haarlemmerweg- Bos en Lommerweg- Jan van Galenstraat- Cornelis Lelylaan-Overtoom- Aalsmeerweg-Haarlemmermeerstraat- Gooiseweg-Wibautstraat- IJdoornlaan- IJtunnel- Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat- Van Baerlestraat (Museumplein / Concertgebouw will remain accessible)
