As per reports, authorities have announced temporary traffic diversions in Ramanathapuram district on Monday (04 May), in view of vote counting for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The traffic changes will remain in force from 0600 hours to 1600 hours (local time).
Counting for all four constituencies of the district will take place at Anna University College of Engineering in the Pullangudi area near Ramanathapuram. The details are as follows:
• Vehicles travelling from Devipattinam toward Ramanathapuram Bus Stand have been directed to move via Koperimadam, Siddharkottai, Nadipalam, and Perungulam before reaching Pattinamkathan and continuing to the bus stand.
• Vehicles travelling from Ramanathapuram toward Thiruvadana, Karaikudi, Thondi, and Trichy through the Devipattinam side have been advised to proceed via Pattinamkathan, Nadipalam, Siddharkottai, and Koperimadam.
• The District Collector has advised the public to follow the revised traffic routes during the restriction period to support smooth counting operations and regulated vehicle movement near the counting centre.
