As per reports, the local police in Nainital district has issued a traffic control plan to be effective until Monday (14 April) in the Nainital district. The following measures have been taken to control traffic surge due to increased vehicles over the weekend:
• Vehicles coming from metropolitan cities or other districts must bypass Haldwani city and directly take the hill routes from outside the city.
• From Rudrapur: Vehicles heading to the hills will pass through Pantnagar intersection via National Highway-109 (NH-109), then proceed via Teenpani Flyover and Gaulapar intersection.
• From Bareilly Road: All hill-bound vehicles will go via Teenpani Flyover and Nariman intersection.
• From Ramnagar, Bajpur, Kaladhungi: All vehicles must go via Mangoli, Rusi-1 Kaladhungi Road, Rusi-2 Jyolkoti Road, then through Masjid intersection, to reach Bhawali.
• Vehicles from Haldwani: All roadways buses and taxis heading towards the hills will follow their designated routes.
• Movement of essential heavy vehicles such as milk, fuel, and gas will be prohibited between 1400 hours to 2200 hours.
• From cities like Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora: Vehicles heading to these hilly districts via Haldwani will not be allowed to enter Haldwani city.
• If parking inside Nainital is full, all tourist vehicles coming from Kaladhungi will be stopped and parked at temporary parking zones in Rusi-1 and Narayan Nagar on Kaladhungi Road. From there, tourists will be taken into the city via shuttle service.
• For vehicles coming via Band No. 1 Jyolikot and heading to Bhawali and Kainchi Dham, they will be parked at Sanatorium Bhawali via Ratighat Road, and shuttle service will take them to Kainchi Dham.
• All tourist vehicles coming via the Haldwani–Bhimtal route will be parked at Vikas Bhavan, Bhimtal, and shuttle service will ferry them to Kainchi Dham and Bhawali.
