Traffic disruptions due to Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Parade scheduled from Tuesday (25 November)

As per reports, the 106th Annual Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, recognized as the nation’s longest-running Thanksgiving parade, is scheduled to take place on Thursday (27 November), beginning at 0900 hours local time (1400 hours UTC). The live broadcast is scheduled to start at 0830 hours local time (1330 hours UTC).

• The parade route is scheduled to start at 20th Street and John F. Kennedy (JFK) Boulevard, proceed eastbound toward 16th Street, then northbound along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, continuing westbound to Eakins Oval, and dispersing at Kelly Drive and the Spring Garden Extension, as confirmed by the Philadelphia Office of Special Events.
• Several road closures and parking restrictions are scheduled between Tuesday (25 November), and Thursday (27 November), to accommodate parade rehearsals and ensure public safety.
• Rehearsal-related closures are scheduled to take place on Tuesday (25 November) from 1830 hours local time to 2300 hours local time (2330 hours UTC–0400 hours UTC) and on Wednesday (26 November) from 0900 hours local time to 1500 hours local time (1400 hours UTC–2000 hours UTC), affecting Eakins Oval between Kelly Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
• On Thursday (27 November) on Thanksgiving Day, full closures are scheduled to be in effect from 0000 hours local time to 1200 hours local time (0500 hours UTC–1700 hours UTC), including sections of 20th Street, JFK Boulevard, Arch Street, Market Street, Race Street, and Benjamin Franklin Parkway. ‘No Parking’ signs are scheduled to be posted, and vehicles in restricted zones are expected to be towed.
