According to reports, a collision involving two trucks has been reported on National Highway 16 near Boyapalem, on the border of Palnadu and Guntur districts in Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday (01 July).

• The incident occurred during the early hours of the day after a truck transporting tiles reportedly attempted to avoid a stationary truck that had broken down on the highway. In the process, the vehicle struck the central divider before colliding with an oncoming truck transporting paper.
• Following the collision, both trucks caught fire, reportedly due to sparks generated by the impact. As one of the vehicles had been carrying paper, the fire spread rapidly, resulting in extensive damage to both trucks.
• Police and fire service personnel have been deployed to the location and have extinguished the fire after emergency response operations. The damaged vehicles have subsequently been removed using cranes and earthmoving equipment.
• Authorities have also registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
