Traffic disruption expected in Dresden due to marathon between Saturday (25 October) and Sunday (26 October)

As per reports, significant traffic and public transport disruptions are expected across Dresden on Saturday (25 October) and Sunday (26 October) due to the 25th Dresden Marathon and associated events.

• The city administration has confirmed participation by over 10,000 runners, with the children’s marathon and five-kilometre run scheduled for Saturday (25 October), followed by the main marathon on Sunday (26 October).
• On Sunday (26 October), extensive road closures may be implemented from 0600 hours to 1630 hours local time (0400 hours–1430 hours UTC) across the city centre and nearby districts, including Innere and Äußere Neustadt, Radeberger Vorstadt, Striesen, Blasewitz, Johannstadt, and Gruna.
• Detours have been established, and motorists are urged to plan alternate routes or avoid affected areas. On Saturday (25 October), temporary closures may occur between 1530 hours and 1730 hours (1330 hours–1530 hours UTC) around the Ostra sports park and adjacent streets such as Weißeritzstraße, Pieschener Allee, Messering, Schlachthofstraße, Rudolf-Harbig-Weg, Ostra-Ufer, Devrientstraße, and Terrassenufer.
• Public transport is also expected to face major diversions and route changes throughout the weekend. Tram line six may operate partially between 1000 hours and 1600 hours local time (0800 hours to 1400 hours UTC), with replacement buses serving extended routes. Bus line nine may terminate early at Straßburger Platz, with shuttle services continuing toward Laubegast.
• Tram lines 10 and 12 may have shortened routes and operate with replacement buses via Fetscherplatz. Bus lines 62, 63, and 64 are expected to follow detours around closed or congested roads between 0800 hours and 1600 hours local time (0600 hours and 1400 hours UTC).
