As per reports, the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) announced that increased military vehicle activity is expected across highways in Arkansas from Friday (29 May) to 15 June due to annual Arkansas National Guard (ARNG) training operations.

• According to ARDOT, National Guard personnel and military convoys are scheduled to travel from multiple armories throughout the state to Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center in Barling, Arkansas. The movements are expected to involve large tactical military vehicles operating at reduced speeds compared to normal civilian traffic.
• Authorities have stated that the increased convoy activity may result in localized traffic slowdowns, temporary congestion, and reduced travel speeds on selected state highways and transportation corridors during the training period.
• The Arkansas National Guard advised the civilian motorists to maintain safe distances from military convoys, exercise caution when overtaking military vehicles, and remain patient during convoy operations.
• Key highways potentially anticipated to be affected include Interstate 40 (I-40), Interstate 30 (I-30), Interstate 49 (I-49), Interstate 55 (I-55), Interstate 57 (I-57), Interstate 530 (I-530), Interstate 555 (I-555), US Highway 64 (US-64), US Highway 67/167 (US-67/167), US Highway 71 (US-71), and Arkansas Highway 22 (AR-22), which provide primary access to western Arkansas and the Fort Smith–Barling area; however, authorities have not specified exact convoy routes.
