Total traffic closure implemented on Puente Germania in Tegucigalpa from Saturday (06 June) through Sunday (07 June)

As per reports, the Central District Municipal Mayor’s Office (AMDC) authorities have implemented a total vehicular traffic closure on the Puente Germania (Germania Bridge) in southern Tegucigalpa to facilitate the critical construction and installation of structural girders from Saturday (06 June) through Sunday (07 June).

• The total suspension of vehicular traffic was scheduled during a night window from 2200 hours local time on Saturday (06 June) (0400 hours UTC on 07 June) till 0200 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) on Sunday (07 June).
• Heavy specialized maneuvers were executed during this nocturnal block to advance the infrastructure expansion project.
• This engineering works represent a vital phase of the ongoing bridge widening project, which is tracking toward a projected full delivery in November.
• The affected areas include the southern exit sector of Tegucigalpa, the Germania neighborhood, Loarque, and adjacent corridors leading toward the southern municipalities.
