As per reports, the Public Ministry (MP – Ministerio Público) and the Technical Agency for Criminal Investigation (ATIC – Agencia Técnica de Investigación Criminal), supported by military police and special units, executed Operation Taranis against organized crime networks across Guayape and the Central District (Tegucigalpa) on Thursday (01 October).
• Reports indicate that authorities conducted 15 raids, comprising 12 in Guayape (Olancho Department) and three across residential areas in Tegucigalpa, targeting structures linked to drug trafficking, illegal firearms storage, and the 18th Street Gang (Pandilla 18).
• Reports suggest that security forces targeted criminal groups known as Los Escoto and Mito Padilla to secure evidence, execute arrests, and disrupt illicit financial operations.
• The security operation named ‘Taranis’ continues to be in force with Guayape and Tegucigalpa under heightened security.
