The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast fairly widespread to scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall across parts of Thailand on Wednesday (09 September).
Following are the latest updates available:
• Very heavy rainfall is expected across Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Bueng Kan, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.
• Heavy rainfall is expected across Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Loei, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, Phang Nga and the Bangkok Metropolitan Area.
• Scattered thunderstorms are forecast across Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
• Marine conditions are expected to remain rough in thunderstorm-affected areas. Wave heights of 1–2 metres are forecast across the eastern Gulf of Thailand, increasing to above 2 metres during thunderstorms. In the Andaman Sea, wave heights are expected to reach around 2 metres, increasing to above 2 metres during thunderstorms, particularly from Phuket northwards.
• Temperatures across the country are forecast to range between 22–28 degrees Celsius (minimum) and 29–37 degrees Celsius (maximum), with variable or southwesterly winds generally ranging between 10–35 km/h.
