The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Malaysia on Friday (20 February). Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected across multiple locations in Sarawak and Sabah. The warning remains valid until 0600 hours (local time).

• In Sarawak, thunderstorms are forecast over Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah) and Bintulu.
• In Sabah, affected areas include Tawau and Sandakan (Kinabatangan).
