As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the following weather warnings have been issued across Maharashtra on Tuesday and Wednesday (23-24 June):
• On Tuesday (23 June), a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning has been issued for Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Bhandara, Nagpur, Amravati, Washim, and Wardha districts.
• Additionally, as per the IMD Nowcast display, an orange alert indicating moderate rainfall of five to 15 millimetres per hour accompanied by thunderstorms and maximum surface winds of 41-61 kilometres per hour has been issued for Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar), Palghar, Thane, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Mumbai Suburban districts. The nowcast warning is valid from 1330 hours to 1600 hours (local time) on Tuesday (23 June).
• Meanwhile, as per the IMD Nowcast display, a yellow alert has been issued for Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal, Nanded, and Hingoli districts. The alert indicates the possibility of light rainfall of less than five millimetres per hour accompanied by light thunderstorms and maximum surface winds of less than 40 kilometres per hour. The nowcast warning is valid from 1330 hours to 1600 hours (local time) on Tuesday (23 June).
• On Wednesday (24 June), a yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning has been issued for Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Bhandara, Nagpur, Amravati, Washim, Buldhana, and Wardha districts.
