The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) has issued a thunderstorm advisory at 1621 hours (local time) on Monday (21 September).
Following are the details:
• Heavy to intense rainshowers, accompanied by lightning and strong winds, are affecting Batangas (Malvar and Santo Tomas), Laguna (Santa Maria), Nueva Ecija (Licab, Zaragoza, Pantabangan and Carranglan), Quezon (Sariaya, Candelaria, Tiaong and San Antonio), Rizal (Tanay and Pililla), Tarlac (San Jose, Tarlac City, La Paz, Victoria, Concepcion, Gerona and Santa Ignacia), and Zambales (San Marcelino, Botolan, Cabangan and Candelaria). The conditions may persist for the next two hours.
• Heavy to intense rainshowers, accompanied by lightning and strong winds, are expected to affect within the next two hours for Bataan (Hermosa, Dinalupihan, Morong, Orani, Mariveles, Limay and Samal), Batangas (Lipa, Mataasnakahoy, Tanauan, Padre Garcia, San Juan, Rosario and Balete), Bulacan (Norzagaray), Cavite (Carmona, General Mariano Alvarez and Silang), and Laguna (Mabitac, Pangil, Pakil, Siniloan, Famy, Calamba, Los Banos, Bay, Calauan, Alaminos, San Pablo, Victoria, Rizal, Nagcarlan, Cabuyao, Santa Rosa, Binan and San Pedro).
• The conditions were also expected to affect Nueva Ecija (San Antonio, Jaen, Santa Rosa, Aliaga, Quezon, Guimba, Cabiao, Rizal and Bongabon), Pampanga (Porac, Angeles, Mabalacat, Magalang, Floridablanca, Lubao, Guagua, Bacolor, Santa Rita, San Fernando, Mexico, Arayat, Santa Ana, Minalin, Santo Tomas, San Simon, San Luis and Sasmuan), Quezon (Lucena, Tayabas, Pagbilao, Padre Burgos, Agdangan, Unisan, Atimonan, Plaridel, Gumaca, Pitogo, Mauban, Lucban, Sampaloc, Real, Infanta, General Nakar, Dolores, Polillo and Burdeos), Rizal (Jala-Jala, Rodriguez, Antipolo, Baras, Binangonan, Morong, Cardona, Teresa and Angono), Tarlac (Capas, Bamban, Pura, Ramos, Paniqui, Camiling, Mayantoc and San Clemente), and Zambales (Santa Cruz, Masinloc, Palauig, Iba, San Felipe, San Narciso, San Antonio, Castillejos, Subic and Olongapo) within the same period.
• The weather conditions may result in flash floods and landslides, and residents in the affected areas were advised to take precautionary measures and continue monitoring for updates.
