As per reports, the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has implemented temporary traffic arrangements on the Trakia, Hemus, and Struma highways to facilitate ongoing repair and maintenance work until 31 October.
• On the Hemus highway, between Yana village and the Sofia entrance (kilometer zero to eight), repair work is being conducted on the lane towards Sofia. Reverse traffic is scheduled at specific times on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays until the completion of repairs on 31 October.
• Traffic in the opposite direction is redirected via I-1 through Gorni and Dolni Bogrov.
• On the Trakia highway, repair work is reportedly underway on four sections in Sofia, Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora, and Sliven districts. Traffic is two-way in lanes not under repair, with alternating two and three-lane arrangements in certain sections depending on traffic volume.
• Reverse traffic may also be implemented at the discretion of the Traffic Police during periods of heavy congestion. Additionally, restrictions on trucks over 12 tons are in effect during specific hours to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety.
• On the Struma highway, the Kocherinovo tunnel is being cleaned, with traffic temporarily redirected to allow safe maintenance. Similarly, the Topli Dol tunnel on Hemus highway will have lane restrictions due to lighting repairs.
