As per reports, Arica is scheduled to begin a series of temporary traffic restrictions and road closures continuing from Tuesday (22 September) through Sunday (27 September), associated with infrastructure works, community parades, an institutional emergency exercise and cultural and sporting events.
• The Manuel Blanco Encalada between Doctor Juan Noé and Chacabuco is scheduled to be closed from 0800 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) to 2000 hours local time (2300 hours UTC) on Tuesday (22 September) for concrete works.
• National Holiday Community Parades is expected to affect Route A-357 at 48-53 kilometer on Tuesday (22 September) and Route A-27 at 12 kilometer on Wednesday (23 September), from approximately 1030 hours local time (1330 hours UTC) to 1500 hours local time (1800 hours UTC).
• On Thursday (24 September), the Maipú Street between General Manuel Baquedano and Patricio Lynch is expected to be temporarily interrupted from 1100 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) to 1200 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) for a SEREMI de Salud institutional fire drill.
• On Saturday (26 September), San Marcos Street is scheduled to be affected by installation of a dome and telescopic crane from 0800 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) to 1800 hours local time (2100 hours UTC), while Paseo 21 de Mayo is expected to experience restrictions from 1900 hours local time (2200 hours UTC) to 2200 hours local time (0100 hours UTC on 27 September) for the 25th Anniversary Parade of the NGO Oro Negro Comparsa.
• The Víctor Jara Festival 2026 is scheduled around Bolognesi Street from Saturday (26 September) to Sunday (27 September), with activity extending from 1200 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) to 0100 hours local time (0400 hours UTC). The festival’s main cultural event is also confirmed for Saturday (26 September) at Plaza Colón.
• On Sunday (27 September), the Family Bullfight of the Month of the Homeland is expected to affect the Las Dunas sector from 0600 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) to 1300 hours local time (1600 hours UTC).
