Telangana electricity workers withdraw strike action on Friday (17 April)

As per reports, the Telangana Electricity Artisans Joint Action Committee (JAC) has officially withdrawn its proposed strike call after a mediation with Deputy Chief Minister (CM) and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday (17 April).

• The decision followed a high‑level meeting at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad between the Deputy CM and the workers’ representatives.
• During the discussions, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the Transmission Corporation of Telangana (TRANSCO) Chairman and Managing Director to initiate formal talks with the Artisans JAC on grievances that could be addressed without imposing additional financial burden on the state.
• JAC chairman Satish Reddy confirmed the immediate withdrawal of the strike, while convenor Sailu expressed appreciation for the government’s assurance of dialogue.
