As per reports, a second major protest convoy by Vienna’s taxi industry has been scheduled for Tuesday (09 December). The protest is driven by industry dissatisfaction regarding the existing price band regulations, which set predefined fare ranges and are viewed by operators as disadvantaging them compared to app based mobility platforms.
• The protest is scheduled to begin with assembly at 1200 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) at the parking area located at the corner of Arbeiterstrandbadstraße and Donauturmstraße, followed by the convoy’s departure at 1330 hours local time (1230 hours UTC).
• For the Tuesday (09 December) event, between 500 and 600 vehicles have been formally registered with the police. However, based on the previous turnout, significantly higher participation is possible.
• The planned route mirrors the first protest and is expected to run from Arbeiterstrandbadstraße through Wagramer Straße, across Reichsbrücke, continuing via Lassallestraße, Praterstern, Praterstraße, Aspernbrückengasse, Aspernbrücke, into the Ring road, proceeding to Franz-Josefs-Kai and concluding at Urania.
