Tainan urges for water conservation as water supply warning issued on Wednesday (15 May)

As per reports, Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che on Wednesday (15 May) called on residents to conserve water, as reservoirs are running low amid sparse spring rains.

• A water supply alert has been issued in Tainan with Mayor Huang adding that the ongoing plum rain season would hopefully bring more rainfall through next month.
• As of 1100 hours on Wednesday (15 May), the Zengwen Reservoir, which is mainly used for irrigation, was at 31.39 percent capacity, according to the southern branch of the Water Resources Agency.
• The Wushantou Reservoir was at 66.34 percent capacity and the Nanhua Reservoir, which mainly supplies residential and industrial needs, was at 29.59 percent capacity.
