As per reports, a young male patient who recently returned from a country with ongoing Mpox (monkeypox) transmission has been identified as a suspected case of the virus, as stated by the Press Information Bureau (PIB). The patient has been placed in isolation at a designated hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
• Samples from the patient are being tested to confirm the presence of Mpox. The case is being managed in line with established protocols, and contact tracing is ongoing to identify potential sources and assess the impact within the country.
• The government has assured that the situation is under control, stating that the development is consistent with previous risk assessments conducted by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
