According to reports, Hanoi City Police have reported a surge in student traffic violations, with 2,374 cases recorded in the first 10 months of 2023. These infractions include not wearing helmets, driving without qualifications, and lacking a driver’s license. To address this issue, the City Traffic Police Department has initiated collaborative efforts with educational institutions to educate students on traffic regulations, incorporating awareness campaigns during flag-raising sessions and dedicated safety classes.

As of the beginning of 2024, stringent measures and intensified patrols have been rolled out to address the escalating issue of student violations. Parents providing vehicles to unqualified students now face penalties. The Traffic Police Department is also urging local law enforcement to heighten vigilance, with a focus on enforcing regulations such as helmet use and passenger limits. Concurrently, efforts are underway to manage impromptu parking around schools, coupled with a campaign discouraging households from facilitating motorbike use for students.
