As per reports, starting 0800 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) on Tuesday (14 October), workers of the Tax Administration Service (SAT) are scheduled to conduct a national strike to protest the non-compliance with salary adjustments that were due in January 2025.

• The strike aims to prompt the SAT management to establish a negotiation table addressing salary improvements, dignified working conditions, and respect for workers’ rights, particularly for operational, administrative, and technical staff.
• SAT employees have reported dissatisfaction due to wage inequality, specifically the gap between unionized and liaison personnel, and the lack of implementation of the 12 percent minimum wage increase announced by the National Minimum Wage Commission.
