Storm Joshua expected to impact Berlin and Brandenburg between Friday (24 October) and Sunday (26 October)

As per reports, Storm Joshua is currently moving across Germany, which is expected to lead to further adverse weather conditions in Berlin and Brandenburg between Friday (24 October) and Sunday (26 October).

• Scattered rainfall is expected on Friday (24 October) in areas of Berlin and Brandenburg. Temperatures may drop to between eight and 10 degrees Celsius, accompanied by stormy winds. The situation is expected to worsen by Friday (24 October) morning, as storm fields impact both Berlin and Brandenburg, bringing strong to gale-force gusts (65–80 kilometres per hour), with isolated gusts possibly reaching 90 kilometres per hour, particularly in open or elevated areas.
• Heavy rainfall and short thunderstorms are expected overnight into Friday (24 October), with slippery roads and falling branches posing heightened accident risks. The weather is forecast to remain unsettled through Saturday (25 October), leading to dense cloud cover, occasional rainfall, and continued strong gusts.
• On Sunday (26 October), cooler air may flow into Berlin, dropping temperatures to six to 10 degrees Celsius. Northern Brandenburg may experience wet snowfall at higher altitudes, as the snow line falls to around 700–800 meters.
• Transport disruptions have already been reported, with rail service restrictions due to fallen trees between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Deutsche Bahn has advised passengers to check connections before traveling.
