As per reports, Spirit Airlines has initiated an immediate wind-down of its operations on Saturday (02 May), resulting in the cancellation of all scheduled flights and discontinuation of customer service.
• Reports indicate that approximately 277 flights scheduled for the day have been cancelled, with passengers advised not to proceed to airports.
• Reportedly, the airline’s final flight operated from Detroit to Dallas, after which all operations ceased due to financial constraints and uncertainty surrounding a federal support agreement.
• Reports suggest that refunds are expected to be processed for bookings made via credit or debit cards, while compensation for other payment methods is expected to be determined through bankruptcy proceedings.
