As per reports, a spike in dengue cases has been reported in Pune, after a cluster of 20 suspected cases was identified by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in the elapsed week, as of Saturday (22 June). Out of the 20, nine cases have been confirmed; each of the persons were residents of the Sada Anand Nagar of Mangwalwar Peth, in the Kasba Peth area. 63 suspected cases have been reported in June, of which 21 have been confirmed at present.
The PMC has initiated inspections of the area, and has issued notices to over 560 residential complexes in the Mangalwar Peth area for not adhering to previously issued civic guidelines related to mosquito prevention.
