According to reports, newly appointed Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is scheduled to meet South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol for their first summit next week in Laos, coinciding with annual regional gatherings. This meeting will be their first in-person meeting since Ishiba took office on Tuesday (01 October). Both leaders are expected to participate in a series of discussions involving the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
