As per reports, Environment Canada has issued a yellow-level snowfall warning for multiple parts of southern and central Ontario, with moderate to locally heavy snowfall expected on Sunday (25 January).
• Forecast models indicate snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 centimetres, developing from Sunday (25 January) morning and continuing through night.
• Snowfall is expected to begin over southwestern Ontario during the early morning hours, gradually expanding eastward toward central and eastern sections by late morning to midday, before tapering to lighter snow or intermittent flurries overnight.
• In addition to snowfall, easterly winds gusting between 40 and 50 kilometres per hour are forecast, which may lead to localized blowing snow, particularly in open and exposed areas.
• These conditions are likely to result in reduced visibility, especially during periods of heavier snowfall and stronger gusts.
• While the event is not expected to reach blizzard thresholds, the combination of steady snowfall accumulation and gusty winds may significantly affect ground conditions.
• Affected locations include Newmarket, Georgina, Northern York Region, Guelph, Erin, Southern Wellington County, Kitchener, Cambridge, Region of Waterloo, Innisfil, New Tecumseth, and Angus.
