As per reports, on Thursday (24 July), a pedestrian was struck by a South Shore Line train near the Gary station in Gary, Indiana. South Shore Line authorities issued an alert at 0610 hours (local time) informing commuters that all train services through the Gary station were temporarily suspended.
• The train services were restored by 0800 hours (local time), approximately two hours after the disruption.
• Following the resumption of services, several weekday westbound trains, including trains numbered 110, 16, 118, and 120, experienced delays ranging from 30 minutes to one hour.
• Weekday eastbound train number 405 was delayed by approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
• The condition of the pedestrian involved in the incident has not been officially released by authorities. No further safety concerns or additional disruptions were reported by South Shore Line for the remainder of the day.
