As per reports, a shooting at the General Motors (GM) Assembly Plant parking lot in Arlington, Texas, left one person seriously injured on the morning of Tuesday (07 July). The incident occurred at approximately 0635 hours local time (1135 hours UTC) in the 2500 block of East Abram Street.
• According to the Arlington Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting and found a 24-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the plant’s parking lot. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
• Police stated that the suspected shooter fled the scene immediately after the incident. However, shortly afterwards, the suspect called 911, admitted involvement in the shooting, and provided information that enabled officers to locate and arrest him without further incident at an undisclosed location. The suspect remains in police custody, and criminal charges are pending.
• Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting was an isolated incident involving two individuals who were known to each other.
• Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public, although the motive for the shooting has not been disclosed. Investigators continue to interview the suspect and process evidence, while the identities of both individuals have not yet been released.
