As per reports, rehabilitation works continue to progress along Route 7 in the departments of Canelones and Florida as of Tuesday (19 May), with authorities undertaking roadway widening, asphalt rehabilitation, signage upgrades, and road safety interventions across multiple sections.
• Reports indicate that the first phase of works covers the 17-kilometre stretch between the Santa Lucía River bridge near Fray Marcos and the access point to Casupá, with widening works, shoulder construction, and resurfacing operations currently underway.
• Reportedly, rehabilitation and urban improvement works have also been carried out along the main avenues in Casupá and Fray Marcos, including refurbishment at the roundabout connecting routes 7 and 94.
• Reports suggest that a new truck parking facility has additionally been constructed in Fray Marcos to support freight transport operations and improve road safety conditions.
• Authorities stated that the first phase of the project is anticipated to be completed within approximately two months.
