As per reports, members of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, Democratic lawmakers, voting rights advocates and American Civil Liberties Union representatives protested outside the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday (14 May) morning against the scheduled redistricting special session.

• Governor Brian Kemp has called Georgia lawmakers back to the Capitol on 17 June to redraw congressional, State House and State Senate district maps.
• Protesters warned that the redistricting process could dilute minority voting power, alter political representation across Georgia and affect the state’s national reputation.
• Proposed maps have not yet been released, and any approved changes are expected to take effect from the 2028 election cycle.
